McCord Candies has been located in downtown Lafayette, Indiana since 1912. It is one of the oldest operating soda fountains in Indiana and the Midwest.
Back in 1912 the candy store started under the name Glatz Candies and changed to McCord Candies in the 1950s. Using the same receipes and traditions, it remained the same store but with a different name.
The store still makes candy on the third floor and offers many of the favorites it offered in 1912. McCord Candies still has handmade fountain drinks and sodas. They also serve many old time favorite lunch items, such as, deviled eggs and olive and nut sandwiches.
McCord's greatest tradition is its handmade candy canes. The candy canes are made the same way they were made in 1912. Every step of the process is done by hand. In the end, you have a very unique candy cane that tastes as good as they always have. Many customers order them from all over the world to enjoy the great taste every year at Christmas time.
Today McCord Candies is still operating in downtown Lafayette. When you walk through the door of McCord Candies you will walk back in history 90 years. Everything has remained the same including our low prices. Stop in and see how much has not changed over the last 94 years.
